Henry Winkler, best known as The Fonz from the Happy Days TV show, was involved in an all out brawl at the Echo Park Nightclub in Los Angeles. Eyewitnesses said that when he entered he was wearing his old Happy Days jacket and quite drunk already but still sat at the bar and had shot after shot. One witness named Aleesha said this,
He kept standing up and snapping his fingers and saying ‘ayyyyyyy’ and then looking around with his arms stretched out, smiling like he expected girls to come to him. Ain’t no guy gonna be snapping his finger at me.
The bartender told us he was keeping an eye on him because this bar was not the type of place you mess around in. “He got up and walk up to the DJ booth and just leaned with his back against it for like 5 minutes“, the bartender said, “then he turned around and reached over the booth and smacked the DJs turntable with his fist as the DJ was trying to mix a song. He broke the needle right off and the turntable fell to the ground and broke. Then he just looked around the room and smiled with his thumbs up and He said something like ‘heyyyy’ or ‘ayyyyyy’“, the bartender told us as he demonstrated his gesture.
It was said at this point about 20 people jumped on him and it turned into a free for all bar fight. He was getting the worst of it until one of the bouncers allegedly touched his leather Jacket and then all hell broke loose. Bar stools were flying and in the end 4 bouncers ended up in the hospital. One of the bar patrons said,
He was one mean dude. He went all Bruce Lee and shit and after taking on like 8 guys he just walked out of the bar like nothing happened, oh, and he grabbed two girls on his way out. That guy was off the hook.
Later we received word that the L.A. police caught him on an old motorcycle with 2 girls riding on back and drinking a can of old Milwaukee beer. The police questioned him using their new “beat first ask questions later” policy. We hear he was pretty badly injured but still in the end was able to raise his handcuffed hands, thumbs out and let out a slightly dazed “ayyyyyyyyyyy“.
